Professional Side
I, PiningfortheFjords aka Biggles, take notes. I am all about data and information, storing and cataloguing it and making it available for myself and others to find. My background is in IT, specifically application development and data architecture.
Most of my projects start with one of two thoughts:
- There must be a better way
- It shouldn’t be this hard
The primary goal, and hopefully result, of most of my projects is to make life easier for myself and others, no matter how insignificant the change may be. If I can save someone a few minutes a day, that could amount to a month or two in a lifetime; that is good enough for me. I will admit that I do keep the bar pretty low, but goals should be attainable.
The Modding Resource Catalogue started as a spreadsheet where I gathered links to guides and tutorials on xEdit, Creation Kit and modding in general. On a whim, I bought piningforthefjords.co.uk to build a simple site so I could list my own resources and those from the spreadsheet. That was July 2022 and now we are here. Took a while to get here, and there is still further to go, but I am starting to feel the convergence of goal and result and of that I am a little proud.
Personal Side
I was brought up in the US, mostly in the New York metropolitan area but currently reside on the west coast of the UK, in a small ex-fishing village with not much going on in any given day. Quite the step down to be honest.
I’m in my 60s and have spent most of my life living, playing hard and having fun. I have travelled to many places around the world, currently missing three continents, Asia, South America and Antarctica. I do hope to get in at least two of them before I pass on, am no more, expire, go to meet my maker, cease to be, am bereft of life, resting in peace, am pushing up daisies, kick the bucket, shuffle off this mortal coil, join the bleedin' choir invisible, become an ex-person.
Also, I am a Monty Python fan. If you want to chat about Monty Python or the MRC or anything, feel free to contact me or join my Discord server, The MRC Shop, where I post Monty Python and other comedic sketches, just for laughs and of course discuss MRC.
