Promote Your Resources
While MRC is about gamers and modders searching and finding resources, it’s also about providing a platform for resource owners to list, not host, their resources.
Resource owners include:
- Mod and patch authors
- Let's Play and tutorial video creators
- Written guide authors
- Discord server owners with support and discussion channels
- Personal website/github owners
Basically anyone who freely shares their time and hard work so everyone can benefit and have fun.
If you are that person or group, you should think about listing your resource(s) in MRC. I will always strive to make MRC an author, creator and owner friendly place with a focus on presenting your resources the best way I can.
Your resource pages are yours to add, update or remove as you will. I don’t host resources on MRC so I have no control over them, however I do need to host any images used in the resource pages but you can change/remove them at any time.
Before reading further you should review the rules for inclusion in MRC to make sure your resources don’t break any of those rules.
Please note that currently there is no direct way for you to edit your resources yourself but that functionality is planned for the future as you can see in the MRC Roadmap. This means for now you do need to go through me for changes.
What MRC can do for you
Promotes your resources and helps gamers and modders alike find them
With its Smart Search options, users can search for any text in the resource title, intro and description. There is also an option to filter by owner.
As with direct resource editing, I have plans to enhance the search functionality to include filtering on various resource properties, like type, category, publication and update dates.
Increases the visibility of your resources in search engines
By providing resource pages that are SEO friendly, the chance of them showing up on the first page improves. As far as I know neither Discord servers nor Github repositories are indexed by search engines so they will never show up in a google search, for example.
However, MRC is a website and it is indexed. I also try to ensure each resource page follows the following guidelines to improve SEO:
- Resource title is H1
- Title is included in the URL
- Site uses Smart Search functionality, which improves SEO
- Images are correctly named and alt text is provided
- Keyword and Metadata tag - This was a good thing but I have read, not so much anymore. So I will not be implementing it for SEO, though it does provide text for some search engine results so I will be using them for that.

A final note, if you need somewhere to host your resources and/or somewhere to provide support for your users, like a Discord channel, I may be able to help. (See Affiliates Section on the Home Page)
