Urgent Items
These are the issues that are Urgent and top priority.
- Advanced Search Change - Remove all but Author and then maybe have advanced expanded by default
- Create a separate Search page which includes descriptions and tips either link to relevant page (Categories, Tags) or Search Box with advanced expanded
- Update the Home Page to point to the page above
- Update the Search Results page to match the Advanced Search options in above
Priority Items
These are the issues that are of high priority. Unfortunately due to my lack of experience this may not reflect what I am currently working on. Remember this is a learn as I go project.
- Search Results Change - Since 'Article' is the only Type, remove Type, move Format to the start, add Link Destination.
- Search Results Change - Add Category and Tags
- Advanced Search Change - Remove all but Author and then maybe have advanced expanded by default
- All List and Results are formatted differently based on how the user searches. Need a consistent look and feel - Posted in Joomla Forum - No Response
- Improve the Search functionality - Posted a Question
- Update the 404 and 403 Error Pages with relevant text
- Provide an option to exclude NSFW from filtering and searches
- Write a Mission Statement and make it easily accessible
Functionality Items
This list was broken by editing page in Front-end, #%!&?! SP Builder. I need to reproduce from memory.
Additional functionality I will be adding to the site when I first work out how it's done and then get the time to actually do it.
- Search Results Change - Catagory - make it a link to that Category's search results
- Add Direct Link to the Resource Article Intro section to user doesn't need to go to full article
- Use the Regular Labs - Article Fields extension to connect resources together, guides and support to mods. Reviewed docs, free version only links one Article A > B not B > A so I would need paid (£30). It does allow you to choose articles. Joomla does have a module for 'similar' article which uses Keyword matching but that might be a logistical nightmare.
Visual Items
Items I think that would make the site look better, to me anyway. These will always be the lowest priority unless something is poking at my OCD then it may move to the #1 spot
- Add Icon and/or Underline to embedded links
- Finding Resource - Review the Q&A section, looking for rewrites. For instance, the ‘lists’ sections, add ‘Search’
- Change the Open Items sections to a Accordion Controls
- Remove the 'Article:' and "Written By" labels in the Tag and Categories lists
- Create a CSS class so I can have an Icon and Text like in my guides , like a Note - need me some learnin'
- Reduce the margins/padding around drop-down menu items options
- Reduce the space between paragraphs
- Make sure I use the term Resources Catalogue
- Tidy up the Categories List page, reduce padding/margins, get images displayed
- Create my own Button Class for use it for all buttons
- Review the Page Title across site - so far I like the different between the Article pages, not title, and other pages with title. Though maybe a "Resource" banner of some kind
- Need to get some images, icons, like I in original list as it just makes thngs look better. For things like new Mod List Category and maybe different Guides if its document or video, i.e. Category + Format based could be something to try
- Reduce the size of the Fjord images and optimize for web
- Update all the resource Button Links and DIrect LInk text to be more specific (i.e mod name)
- In Catagories List, change - Article Count - to resource count
